Due to the nature of Medic's work, the Agency spends a great deal of time communicating with and through the many media outlets in the greater Charlotte, NC area. While always mindful to retain patient privacy above all else, Agency spokesmen often find themselves on the business end of a camera, helping communicate necessary information to the community as it pertains to the events that occur in and around Mecklenburg County.
An excellent example of this was the Cabarrus County School Bus crash on I-77 in Charlotte on April 29, 2009. Public Information Officers with Medic, CFD and CMPD collaborated with area media outlets to broadcast critical updates to concerned parents and family members that day. Thankfully all 52 of the children and chaperones on board the ill-fated bus survived the incident and thanks to live breaking media coverage, parents quickly learned how and where they could be reunited with their loved ones.
Medic’s role in the community results in the Agency being featured in print, online, and video news stories nearly every day. You are invited to look through the print and video news archives below and encouraged to check back regularly as both areas are updated daily.
